Why Sacramento Businesses Choose Ambio

A different kind of Sacramento MSP.

We work alongside the IT provider or internal IT staff your Sacramento business already has, as a co-managed network partner, or take the network on fully.

01 · Local

On Site in Sacramento, Not Outsourced

Your network engineer works on site across the Sacramento region, and the work is not handed to an offshore contractor. When you need someone on a call at 9 AM, the engineer who answers has your documentation and change history in hand.

02 · Senior

Senior Engineer-Led

You work directly with a senior network engineer. Every change is planned against your documented standard and recorded with the reason and the rollback.

03 · Focus

Network-Only Specialization

Firewalls, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, SD-WAN, monitoring and compliance posture are the entire scope. We do not take on printers, help desk or password resets, so every engineering hour goes into the infrastructure your operations depend on.

04 · Fortinet-First

Fortinet-First Architecture

We standardize on Fortinet FortiGate firewalls because a single platform handles SD-WAN, secure remote access, authentication and Wi-Fi in place of several separate products. We also supply FortiGate hardware and licenses, quoted by exact part number.

What We Do

Network engineering services for Sacramento businesses.

We assess, secure, monitor and document networks for Sacramento businesses. Ongoing network management services in Sacramento, with pricing and dashboard examples, have their own page.

Network Risk Assessment

A senior engineer reviews your current network end to end and delivers a written report on segmentation, security posture, drift and compliance gaps, with prioritized recommendations. It is a fixed fee set by network size, listed on the assessment pricing page. Most assessments finish within about two weeks and are prepaid.

Managed Firewall & Edge Security

FortiGate deployment, configuration and rule changes on request, plus reviews of what the firewall lets in and out on the Compliance plan. Single sign-on against Microsoft or Google, site-to-site VPN between offices, secure remote access, and evidence an auditor can read. One platform and one configuration standard at every site.

Multi-Site Network Operations

If you operate across several Sacramento-area locations, or run a regional or national footprint from a Sacramento HQ, we standardize every site on the same configuration, vendor and monitoring, so a problem fixed in Folsom does not resurface in Roseville. Plan details are on Fortinet MSP for multi-site organizations.

Compliance Network Posture

The network controls that matter for HIPAA, PCI-DSS and SOC 2: documented configurations, configuration backups, change history, and the evidence an auditor asks for. If you only need the map and the evidence, a one-time network audit and documentation engagement is $1,250 per site. We work alongside your compliance team so audit cycles stay routine.

Automated Monitoring

Automated network monitoring covers every site, device and link and sends alerts, ranked by severity, to Slack or Teams and to your engineer. You receive a monthly network summary, and Multi-Site adds a quarterly roadmap review.

Network Architecture & Redesign

If your network was inherited, grew piece by piece, or has drifted since a generalist MSP installed it, we redesign it to a documented standard. That means an HA firewall pair, a redundant core and dual uplinks from every wiring closet, so a single device failure does not take a site down.

Sacramento Market Context

Why Sacramento engagements work differently than Bay Area engagements.

Sacramento buyers differ from Bay Area peers in how they buy, who they serve and where the work happens. Each difference changes how we run the engagement.

Longer Procurement, Published Pricing

In our experience, Sacramento mid-market organizations buy IT services on longer cycles than Bay Area peers, with closer scrutiny of price per deliverable. So we publish managed-plan, assessment and fixed project prices under plans and pricing, and you can weigh each deliverable before you sign.

State Capital & Public-Sector Adjacent

As the state capital, Sacramento’s economy includes state agencies, public-sector vendors, large health systems and the contractors that serve them. Network work for these organizations carries specific compliance and procurement requirements, and we plan for them from the assessment onward.

On-Site When the Work Needs It

Most network operations run remotely, but on-site visits happen regularly during onboarding, hardware refreshes, and any work that benefits from being physically present. We work on site across the Sacramento region, the San Francisco Bay Area and San Jose.

Mid-Market Fit

The Sacramento metro has real mid-market depth: multi-site and regulated organizations where a managed network run by a senior engineer pays off. Multi-Site starts at two sites with no site ceiling; above about 10 sites, capacity is checked at scoping. Single-site organizations fit on the per-site Edge plans.

Industries We Serve

Sacramento businesses we are built for.

The work fits best where network reliability and audit readiness are operational requirements, and where the organization needs senior network engineering but not a full-time network hire.

Healthcare & Multi-Clinic Practices

HIPAA-aligned network engineering: segmentation, EHR uptime, secure remote access for clinicians and isolation of patient-data networks, for independent specialty practices and multi-site clinics across the Sacramento area. Clinics can book a Network Risk Assessment directly; recurring healthcare managed plans are sold only through the clinic’s MSP.

Legal Firms

Confidential client data, secure network paths for document management, and the network answers that client security questionnaires ask for. We run the network in the background so it does not become a source of risk for the firm.

Financial Services & Fintech

PCI-DSS-aligned network controls, separation of cardholder data networks, audit-ready evidence and the architecture documentation auditors expect. It fits credit unions, lenders and financial software companies in the Sacramento area.

Multi-Site Operations

For organizations running two or more Sacramento-area locations, or a regional footprint from a Sacramento HQ. Every site runs on the same documented design, and new sites open on a repeatable template instead of a fresh design each time.

Professional Services Firms

Architecture firms, engineering consultancies, accounting practices and similar firms where the network has to be reliable but there is no network engineer on staff. We fill that role on retainer.

Government & Public Sector Adjacent

Vendors and contractors serving Sacramento-region public agencies face their own compliance and audit requirements. We document the network posture and keep the evidence that supports it.

✓ Good Fit

  • Multi-site Sacramento businesses
  • Regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, similar)
  • Organizations whose operations cannot tolerate unplanned downtime
  • Teams that want direct access to the senior engineer doing the work
  • Companies with an internal IT person who needs a network specialist on call

× Not a Fit

  • Organizations that need general IT support rather than a network specialist
  • Organizations whose main need is device, software or Microsoft 365 management

Our Approach

How an engagement runs.

Every change is documented, explained and approved before it is made.

01 · Assess

See Exactly Where You Stand

The Network Risk Assessment described above: configurations reviewed, segmentation validated and gaps documented in writing.

02 · Stabilize & Secure

Stabilize, Then Standardize

Address critical risks first, then build toward one documented standard. You can stop after the critical fixes. Every change is written down, tested and scheduled so it does not interrupt the workday.

03 · Operate & Improve

Your Network Gets Better Over Time

Ongoing monitoring, documented changes and, from Edge Secure up, scheduled reviews keep the network in step with your operations. If you leave, configuration history and documentation come back to you within 30 days.

Your Engineer

Network-only. Every engagement.

Your point of contact is one named senior engineer who knows your environment, compliance requirements and business, from the assessment through ongoing operations. You are never passed between people.

FAQ

Common questions from Sacramento prospects.

How are you different from the bigger Sacramento MSPs?

Larger Sacramento-region MSPs cover general IT: help desk, Microsoft 365 and devices. We cover the network, so we fit best alongside an internal IT person or a general MSP.

Do you replace our existing IT provider, or work alongside them?

Either works. You can keep your current MSP for general IT (help desk, Microsoft 365, devices) and bring us in for the network layer: your IT provider retains administrative access while we run the firewall, switches and Wi-Fi alongside them (see co-managed network). Or we take full responsibility for network and security infrastructure. We will tell you directly which fits your situation.

What does engagement typically cost?

Managed plans: a flat fee from $695 per site per month, set by response level and compliance scope; Multi-Site is $2,495 for the first site and $995 for each additional site. On Edge Essential, standard changes are $225 per hour with a 30-minute minimum.

Network Risk Assessment: $3,500 for a single small site: one firewall, up to three switch groups (a stack counts as one), 100 connected devices and 6 access points; larger networks are priced on the assessment pricing page.

Firewall migration: from $6,500, or from $8,900 for 100F–200F models or an HA pair. Terms are on the plans and pricing page.

How fast do you respond to incidents?

Every plan includes automated monitoring and alerting. Human response is business hours, Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM Pacific, at the service level in your agreement. Outside those hours, emergency work is available at the after-hours emergency rate when an authorized contact requests it and we accept, subject to engineer availability. “Response” means a senior engineer acknowledges, triages and starts mitigation. It is not a promise of final repair, carrier restoration or uptime.

Do you do compliance audits?

We do not perform the audits themselves; an independent auditor does that. We run the network so the evidence already exists when the auditor asks: documented configurations, saved settings that show what changed and when, and a diagram of what is actually installed. If you face HIPAA, PCI-DSS or SOC 2 audit cycles, the network-controls portion is the part we make straightforward.
