What does a managed firewall cost in Sacramento?
The two firewall-only plans and three site plans are priced in the table above. Published guides put managed firewall service for an office of 10 to 100 users at roughly $325 to $1,175 a month. Edge Firewall Watch sits below that range, Managed and Essential inside it, and Secure and Compliance above it because they include change hours, faster response and, on Compliance, audit evidence. The managed firewall cost guide explains what drives the price.
Do you sell the FortiGate too?
Yes, through our distributor, quoted by exact part number with the support and hardware-replacement contract (FortiCare) and the security-subscription bundle (UTP) included. For reference only, a FortiGate 70G with three years of UTP lists at $3,644.78 on the current Americas price list. Ordering runs through our Fortinet reseller page. We register the unit to your Fortinet account, not ours, so renewals and warranty stay yours.
Can you manage a FortiGate we already own?
Yes. We onboard existing units: configuration review, backup, monitoring, and a written list of what we recommend changing. The security subscriptions (FortiGuard) need to be current; we quote the renewals. Plan start conditions are under "How do we start?" below.
What if we have an MSP already?
Keep your general IT provider for help desk and Microsoft 365 and bring us in for the network layer only. We coordinate with them and do not compete for the desktop work. See co-managed network for how the split works.
Do you do HIPAA?
Yes. For outpatient clinics and health SaaS companies, the Edge Compliance plan covers segmentation, firewall policy reviews, access reviews and the evidence an auditor asks for. For healthcare, we currently provide the monthly plan through your MSP; the assessment is sold direct. See the HIPAA network engineering page for the specifics and the limits.
How fast do you respond?
Within business hours, at the response tier in the plan table above. Critical outages are acknowledged and mitigation begins within that window. After-hours terms are in the plan notes above.
How do we start?
A Network Risk Assessment, $3,500 for a single small site: one firewall, up to three switch groups (a stack counts as one), 100 connected devices and 6 access points. Larger networks are priced by size on our assessment pricing page, prepaid. You get the report whether or not you hire us for the work. Required before any Edge site plan, and before Edge Firewall Managed on a firewall we did not install or swap. Not required for Edge Firewall Watch, or for Managed on a FortiGate we installed or swapped. Watch is usually live within the first week after you hand over access. See a sample report (PDF).
How are firmware updates handled?
Scheduled in your maintenance window, after we check the release notes and known issues for your model. The configuration is backed up first, and the rollback plan is written down before we start.
How do firewall rule changes get requested and approved?
An authorized contact asks by email or in your alert channel. We confirm the scope, make the change in the maintenance window (or sooner if it is urgent and you approve), and record the change in our change-control write-up.
Can you replace a SonicWall, Meraki or Sophos firewall with a FortiGate?
Yes, as a migration: from $6,500 for a FortiGate up to the 90 series, from $8,900 for the 100F to 200F class or an HA pair; the assessment sets the fixed fee. See SonicWall, Meraki and Sophos replacement, or firewall migration services for how it runs.
