Why Silicon Valley Businesses Choose Ambio

A different kind of San Jose MSP.

We work with South Bay businesses where downtime and failed audits carry a real cost.

01 · Senior-Led

No Junior Technicians on Your Network

You work directly with an engineer who has spent an entire career on networks. The larger Bay Area MSPs route you through a first-level dispatcher who escalates if needed. Here your network is run by a senior engineer against a written standard, and every change is documented.

02 · Network-Only

Network-Only, Not General IT

Firewalls, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, SD-WAN, monitoring, and the network evidence auditors ask for. That is the entire scope: no end-user support, printers or password resets. Silicon Valley is full of MSPs that do everything. We do one thing and go deep on it.

03 · Fortinet-First

Fortinet-First Architecture

We standardize on Fortinet FortiGate firewalls because they handle SD-WAN, secure remote access, authentication, and Wi-Fi in one platform, so there is one place to configure, one to monitor and one to show an auditor. If you already run Cisco, Meraki or SonicWall, we manage it as-is and propose a replacement when the vendor ends security support.

04 · SOC 2-Ready

Built for SOC 2 and Customer Diligence

South Bay tech companies are judged on SOC 2 audit cycles and on quarterly security questionnaires from enterprise customers. Your network documentation, configuration history and change log stay current, so when an auditor asks who can reach what, you hand over the answer instead of reconstructing it.

Your Engineer

Network-only. Every engagement.

One named engineer who knows your environment, your compliance requirements and your business, from the assessment through ongoing operations.

Fortinet partner serving San Jose and the South Bay. Vendor-neutral advice.

As a Fortinet Engage Advocate partner we supply FortiGate, FortiSwitch and FortiAP, with on-site work in San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and the rest of the South Bay; part numbers and FortiCare renewals are on the Fortinet licensing and hardware page. We also monitor and manage the Cisco, Aruba, Arista and other enterprise gear you already run, so nothing has to be replaced to work with us.

What We Do

Managed network services for San Jose and Silicon Valley businesses.

Network Risk Assessment

We review your current network end-to-end and deliver a written report on segmentation, security posture, configuration drift and compliance gaps, with prioritized recommendations. Fixed price: $3,500 for a single small site, about two weeks; larger networks are priced by size on the assessment pricing page.

Managed Firewall & Edge Security

FortiGate deployment, configuration and policy changes on request, with firewall policy and access reviews on the Compliance plan. SSO through your identity provider, site-to-site VPN and remote access: one platform and one configuration standard at every site, with configuration backups and change history an auditor can read. Firewall migration is from $6,500 (up to the 90-series class) or from $8,900 (100F–200F or an HA pair), with the final fee set by the assessment; an eligible like-for-like FortiGate swap is priced separately and needs no assessment. See FortiGate end-of-life replacement and the managed firewall pricing page.

Multi-Site Network Operations

If you run several Silicon Valley offices (San Jose HQ, Mountain View R&D, Santa Clara warehouse) or a regional or national footprint from a South Bay HQ, the Multi-Site plan ($2,495 for the first site plus $995 per additional site) puts every site on one architecture: same config, same vendor, same monitoring. A problem fixed in Sunnyvale does not resurface in San Jose.

Compliance Network Posture

The network controls that HIPAA, PCI-DSS and SOC 2 each require, with audit packages on demand, delivered alongside your compliance team. If you need the paperwork first, a one-time network audit and documentation package is $1,250 per site.

Automated Monitoring

Automated network monitoring of every site, device and link, with alerts routed by severity to email, Slack or Teams and answered during business hours by a senior engineer. You hear about a problem from the alert, not from your operations team. Every plan includes a monthly network summary; Multi-Site adds a quarterly roadmap review to catch drift early.

Network Architecture & Redesign

If your network was inherited, grew piecemeal, or was installed by a generalist MSP and has since drifted, we redesign it to a documented standard so a single device failure does not take the office down: HA firewall pair, redundant core, dual uplinks to every closet.

Silicon Valley Market Context

Selling network engineering to technical buyers.

Many South Bay buyers are engineers themselves. They test a provider on substance, and a managed network here has to stand up to their review as well as an auditor’s.

Technical Buyers, Real Diligence

Expect your engineers to ask how FortiGate configurations are standardized across sites, how changes are reviewed and rolled back, how configuration backups and change history are kept, and what our IPv6 position is. Bring those questions; we like this market for that reason.

Hardware & Lab Network Reality

The South Bay is dense with chip design firms, hardware companies and biotech-adjacent operations. Their lab and engineering networks cannot take a change in the middle of a test run or a design deadline. Changes are scheduled with your engineering leads, tested and documented with a rollback plan, and the boundary between lab and corporate traffic is written down, so you can show an auditor or a customer exactly what each side can reach.

Senior Engineering Without a Senior Hire

Hiring a senior network engineer in Silicon Valley is expensive: mid-market companies compete for the same people with the region’s largest employers and their stock-based packages, and strong cash pay does not always close that gap. A service relationship gives you that engineer without the hire. If you want the engineer on retainer rather than a managed plan, see San Jose network engineer.

Industries We Serve

South Bay businesses we are built for.

The fit is strongest for Silicon Valley organizations where network reliability and audit readiness are operating requirements.

B2B SaaS & Tech Startups

Pre-IPO and growth-stage SaaS companies whose corporate network must clear enterprise security reviews before a deal closes. We run that network so your security team can focus on the application.

Hardware & Semiconductor Companies

Engineering-design networks and isolated test labs for chip design firms and hardware companies in the Santa Clara / San Jose corridor, segmented so pre-release hardware, IP and a customer’s tape-out data stay separate from corporate traffic.

Multi-Site Tech Operations

San Jose HQ, Mountain View R&D office, Santa Clara warehouse, Fremont satellite: every site runs one architecture, with the same vendor, config and monitoring. Incidents cost less, and opening a new site is a documented process instead of a one-off build. This matters most for hardware-adjacent companies with mixed office and lab footprints.

Biotech & Life Sciences

Biotech and life-sciences companies across the South Bay, from independent specialty firms to growth-stage companies, run lab networks that need instrument-network isolation, validated environments and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 alignment. Network changes follow your validation and change-control procedures and are scheduled around long-running experiments.

Legal & Professional Services

South Bay legal firms, IP-focused firms, and professional services consultancies face client security questionnaires and must keep confidential matter data on segregated network paths. We run the network and keep the evidence those questionnaires ask for.

Healthcare & Multi-Clinic Practices

South Bay healthcare networks need HIPAA network engineering: segmentation, EHR uptime, secure remote access for clinicians and patient-data isolation, from independent Silicon Valley specialty practices to multi-site healthcare networks. Medical practices engage us directly for assessments and projects; recurring managed plans are contracted through the practice’s existing MSP. See HIPAA managed network.

Our Approach

How an engagement runs.

No black box. Every step is documented, explained and approved before it happens, and the documentation stays with you.

01 · Assess

See Exactly Where You Stand

A complete Network Risk Assessment of your current network: configurations reviewed, segmentation validated, gaps documented in writing.

02 · Stabilize & Secure

Stabilize the Critical Risks, Then Standardize

Critical risks are fixed first, then the network moves to a standardized architecture, with every change documented, tested and scheduled with a rollback plan.

03 · Operate & Improve

Your Network Gets Better Over Time

Ongoing monitoring, documented changes and, from the Secure plan up, scheduled reviews, so the network keeps pace with your operations as sites, users and applications are added.

✓ Good Fit

  • Silicon Valley businesses with multiple locations
  • Regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, similar)
  • Organizations whose operations cannot tolerate unplanned downtime
  • Teams that want direct access to a senior engineer
  • Companies with an internal IT person who needs a dedicated network specialist

× Not a Fit

  • Businesses that need general IT support: help desk, printers, email, desktops, software or device management
  • Organizations looking for the lowest monthly price; our plans are priced for senior engineering

FAQ

Common questions from Silicon Valley prospects.

How are you different from the bigger Silicon Valley MSPs?

The larger South Bay MSPs, with hundreds of clients across San Jose and the Peninsula, are good at general IT. If you already have an internal IT person or a general MSP and need the network engineering layer, that is the gap we fill.

Do you replace our existing IT provider, or work alongside them?

Either works. You can keep your current MSP for general IT and bring us in for the network layer only on a co-managed basis: your IT keeps the keys and we run the firewall, switches and Wi-Fi alongside them. Or we take full responsibility for network and security infrastructure. We will tell you directly which fits your situation after the assessment.

What does engagement typically cost?

The Network Risk Assessment is $3,500 for a single small site; larger networks are priced by size on the assessment pricing page. Managed plans are a flat monthly fee per site: $695 (Essential), $1,295 (Secure), $1,795 (Compliance) or $2,495 for the first site plus $995 per additional site (Multi-Site), with $25 per device per month over the ceiling on Essential, Secure and Compliance; Multi-Site extra devices are quoted after scoping, because device mix varies by site. The $695 plan includes no engineering hours; changes bill at $225 per hour with a 30-minute minimum. Projects are published too: firewall migration from $6,500, or from $8,900 for larger models or an HA pair. Full plan detail is on the plans page.

How fast do you respond to incidents?

Every plan includes automated monitoring and alerting. Human response is business hours, Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM Pacific, at the service level in your agreement; outside business hours, emergency work is available at the after-hours emergency rate when an authorized contact requests it and we accept, subject to engineer availability. Because the engineer is named and senior, “response” means actual investigation and the start of mitigation, not a promise of final repair or uptime.

Do you handle SOC 2 audits and customer security questionnaires?

We do not perform SOC 2 audits; that is the auditor’s job. We keep the network documented, with every configuration backed up and every change tracked. If you are in continuous SOC 2 audit cycles plus quarterly customer questionnaires, the network-controls portion of each review is straightforward and well-evidenced.
