Our Fortinet partner status, plainly

Ambio Edge Networks is a Fortinet Engage partner (Advocate, registered as a reseller and integrator) and buys through Fortinet’s authorized U.S. distribution. Our Fortinet partner ID appears on every quote. The engineer behind the quotes, Jeff Johnson, holds Fortinet, Cisco and CompTIA certifications.

What we sell: FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP and FortiCare renewals

A complete FortiGate quote covers the appliance, the subscription bundle and term, and the optics, power and licenses the install needs.

Example part numbers show the format; we confirm the exact SKU when we quote. The FortiGate price list by model, taken from Fortinet’s price list effective September 7, 2026, shows each model’s appliance part number and list price; each model page lists the bundle and renewal part numbers.

How buying from us works

Step 01

Size it first

We pick the model and bundle from your circuit speed and user count, using our FortiGate sizing guide, and check optics, PoE and HA (a second unit for failover). If you already know the SKU, we quote that.

Step 02

Written quote by part number and term

You get a written quote with every Fortinet part number and term: each SKU, term and price on its own line. Shipping is billed at actual carrier cost on its own line, and sales tax follows the ship-to address.

Step 03

Drop-shipped, registered to you

Every unit is new and in-channel, ships direct to your site through Fortinet’s distribution channel, and arrives with serial numbers and subscription start and end dates on your invoice. Registration is to your account, not ours.

After the order

FortiCare renewal reminders before anything lapses

For every serial we sell or renew, we track the FortiCare expiry and contact you at 120, 90, 60 and 30 days out, with a renewal quote around the 90-day mark.

Special-order terms

Fortinet hardware and licenses are special-order items. Payment clears before we place the distributor order, and once placed the order cannot be cancelled or returned. Where a distributor allows a return at all, restocking fees apply.

Why the quote and the install come from the same engineer

Common FortiGate problems start before the unit arrives: a model sized to the datasheet headline instead of the throughput it keeps with security inspection on, a bundle missing a service the design needed, optics nobody ordered, or a unit still registered to the previous IT company’s account. The same senior engineer owns the bill of materials, the configuration assumptions and the cutover plan, and stays your point of contact through the install, which makes it far less likely that a requirement gets missed between quote and install.

Multi-Site is $2,495 for the first site plus $995 per additional site, per month. For a single firewall, Edge Firewall Watch covers monitoring, nightly backup and next-business-day response.

Project fees and plans cover the engineering work; hardware and subscriptions are quoted separately.

Fortinet reseller coverage: San Francisco, the Bay Area and Sacramento

We work on site in Sacramento, Roseville and Folsom, across San Francisco, Oakland and the Bay Area, and in San Jose, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara. Hardware ships direct to your site wherever you are; configuration and staging happen remotely. Cutovers are remote-guided by default; on-site cutover is available in Sacramento, the Bay Area and San Jose and quoted with the install. Organizations outside California buy and get support from us remotely. To have the network run after install, see our Fortinet MSP in San Francisco and Sacramento Fortinet MSP pages. South Bay buyers can start on the Fortinet partner page for San Jose and the South Bay.

Questions buyers ask

Can I buy just the hardware, without your services?

Yes. You do not need a managed-service plan or an install project to buy from us. One condition: every FortiGate we sell carries at least FortiCare, either inside a bundle or as its own SKU. A unit without active FortiCare may not have advance replacement or firmware updates after the included support window, so we do not sell it that way.

Can you renew a FortiGate that someone else sold us?

Yes. Renewals are tied to the serial number, not to the partner who sold the box. Send the serial and current expiry date from your FortiCare account and we quote the matching renewal SKU. The unit must be registered to your organization; a used unit bought from an auction site and still registered to its previous owner cannot be renewed until that is resolved.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on Fortinet’s supply and the distributor’s stock for the exact SKU, so we do not quote a standard lead time. When we quote, we check current stock with the distributor and tell you what it shows. Once the order ships, you get the tracking number.

What happens if a unit arrives dead or fails later?

Warranty, support and replacements (RMA) are Fortinet’s, delivered under FortiCare. Report a dead-on-arrival unit on receipt and we open the RMA with the distributor and Fortinet on your behalf. Advance replacement needs an active FortiCare contract; without one, Fortinet’s return-then-replace process applies. Replacement timing is set by Fortinet.

Can I buy the hardware elsewhere and have you install it?

Yes, if the unit is new, came through an authorized Fortinet channel and can be registered to your own account; gray-market, used or previously registered units can be refused support. We configure and install customer-supplied FortiGate hardware when it is supportable and registrable.

Who owns the Fortinet account and the licenses?

You do. Hardware and subscriptions are registered to your FortiCare account. If you stop working with us, the support contract, firmware access and renewal history go with you.

What do I need to send for a quote?

For a new firewall: internet circuit speed, user count, number of switches and access points, PoE needs, and what the firewall must do (site-to-site VPN, remote access, SD-WAN, HA). For a renewal: the serial number and current expiry. For a replacement: the current model and serial. Include the ship-to address so tax and freight are right.

Which FortiGuard bundle do we actually need?

For an office firewall: UTP (intrusion prevention, antivirus, web and DNS filtering, application control) plus FortiCare. Enterprise adds features that regulated or larger networks use. FortiCare alone fits if you only need hardware support and firmware updates.

Request a Quote

Send the model and serial, or the circuit speed and headcount.

For a renewal or replacement, send the serial number and expiry. For a new install, send the circuit speed, user count, switches and access points, and the ship-to address. You get a written quote with exact Fortinet part numbers and terms. Not sure what to buy yet? A Network Risk Assessment audits the firewall, switches and Wi-Fi and gives you a ranked roadmap with budget ranges before you spend on hardware: $3,500 for one site with one firewall, up to three switch groups (a stack counts as one), 100 connected devices and six access points; larger networks are priced on the assessment pricing page. See a sample report (PDF).

What Happens Next

A senior engineer reads your request and replies within 1 business day.

If anything is missing for an exact quote, we ask before guessing.

You get a written quote with part numbers, terms, shipping and tax lines.

Nothing is ordered until you accept and payment clears.
