Cambium Networks administration: what happened, and what owners should do now

Updated 2026-10-19 · Facts are dated and sourced at the bottom of the page.

Ambio Edge Networks is an independent network engineering firm. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or a partner of Cambium Networks, Airspan Networks, Univastu or the administrators (RSM UK). Product names are trademarks of their owners, used only to identify the equipment we work on.

Cambium Networks Ltd, the UK operating company, went into administration on 2026-09-14 and has been sold in parts: Airspan bought several fixed-wireless lines, and Univastu completed its purchase of ePMP, the Enterprise lines and cnMaestro on 2026-10-14. Cambium says production will resume and cnMaestro Cloud will keep running, but support, warranty and licensing terms under the new owner are not published yet. Your radios, access points and switches keep passing traffic. What is at risk is central management (cnMaestro, Cambium’s cloud dashboard), adding new devices, vendor support and warranty replacements (RMAs). This page is the short version: what happened, what still works, and what to do this week. If you want it done for you: a network audit is $1,250 per site, then monitoring that does not depend on the vendor cloud from $497 a month.

Status as of 2026-10-19

  • UK administration of Cambium Networks Ltd since 2026-09-14. Joint administrators: David Shambrook, Gordon Thomson, Joe Barry and James Woodhead of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory LLP.
  • Airspan bought the defense business and several fixed-wireless lines on 2026-09-22: PMP 450, PTP 670, PTP 700, PTP 450i, 28 and 60 GHz cnWave and cnReach, with LINKPlanner, cnHeat and cnMaestro as it relates to those products.
  • Univastu completed its acquisition of ePMP, the Enterprise business and cnMaestro on 2026-10-14, according to Cambium (announcement, 2026-10-15). Cambium hasn’t published a per-model list. Cambium Networks now runs as a standalone Univastu subsidiary and says it will resume production.
  • XMS-Cloud (Xirrus): a forum user reports that Cambium emailed XMS-Cloud account administrators that the service ends 2026-10-26. Details.
  • cnMaestro Cloud “will continue to operate on a go-forward basis” (Cambium, 2026-10-15), following the earlier “through at least October 2026”. No end date or service terms are published.
  • Next: watch for how Cambium under Univastu will handle support, existing warranties, RMAs and Cambium Care. Nothing is published on that as of 2026-10-19.

Which product line belongs to whom, line by line: Airspan and Cambium: who owns each product line now.

Xirrus owners

XMS-Cloud is reported to end 2026-10-26.

On 2026-10-13 a user on the Cambium forum posted what they say is an email from Cambium to XMS-Cloud account administrators: “XMS-Cloud will be shut down on October 26, 2026.” Another user said they had not received it. We have not found a second public source, so treat the date as reported, and check your own inbox and account.

What the email says

Devices “will continue to operate with their last known configuration”. Features that depend on the cloud, such as EasyPass, stop working. To keep managing the devices, Cambium points to its XMS-Cloud to cnMaestro migration guide.

Before 2026-10-26

Export configurations, SSIDs, guest and EasyPass settings, and the device list. Decide where management goes next: cnMaestro (Cloud or On-Premises), or a planned replacement site by site. Move monitoring somewhere you control; Xirrus access points can be read over SNMP, the standard way to check device health without the vendor’s cloud.

Guest access is the first thing users notice

If your guest Wi-Fi signs people in through EasyPass, plan a replacement captive portal or a simple pre-shared key before the cutoff, and tell the front desk what changes.

What happened

Cambium will run as a standalone Univastu subsidiary, says it will resume production, and says cnMaestro Cloud “will continue to operate on a go-forward basis”.
  14. By 2026-10-31The LINKPlanner profile service may shut down as early as 2026-10-31; Airspan is investigating restoring the original 2026-11-27 date (FAQ version 6).
  15. Around 2026-11-09Statutory deadline for the administrators’ proposals (8 weeks from appointment); the court or creditors can extend it.

The straight answer

Is Cambium Networks going out of business?

The company, largely yes. Cambium Networks Ltd is in UK administration, the administrators have sold it in parts, and Cambium’s 2026-09-28 SEC filing says that company is expected to move into liquidation while the other group companies are wound up in locally administered processes.

The products are a different question. PMP 450, PTP 670/700/450i, cnWave and cnReach now belong to Airspan, which says it has assumed warranty and support for them. ePMP, enterprise Wi-Fi (cnPilot, XV, XE, Xirrus), cnMatrix switches and NSE edge routers were not part of the Airspan sale. Univastu bought the ePMP and Enterprise Wi-Fi and switching businesses, with cnMaestro, on 2026-10-14, and runs Cambium as a standalone subsidiary; Cambium hasn’t said whether NSE was included. PTP 820/850 licensed microwave was not part of the Airspan purchase; Airspan says it is “in discussions with the OEM supplier of the PTP 820/850”.

If you searched for a Cambium Networks bankruptcy: administration is the UK insolvency process, the nearest UK equivalent of a US Chapter 11 filing, in which licensed insolvency practitioners take over from management and sell or wind up the company.

So: the product lines have new owners. Airspan has published a support route for its lines; Univastu hasn’t yet for ePMP and Enterprise. Check who owns each of your product lines before you decide anything.

What still works

What still works after the Cambium administration: traffic keeps flowing. Management, support and RMAs are the risk.

Cambium’s status page showed all components operational on 2026-10-11. That confirms availability on 2026-10-11 only.

Keeps working

Radios, access points and switches keep passing traffic without the cloud, and local device interfaces and SNMP keep answering. Services the cloud itself provides can stop: cloud-hosted guest Wi-Fi sign-in pages, EasyPass social, Google and Azure logins, and UPSK (per-user Wi-Fi passwords).

At risk

Cloud visibility and configuration changes, onboarding new or replacement devices, firmware and licence portals, warranty replacements, and support tickets until the new owners publish their terms.

cnMaestro, Airspan lines

Airspan says “There is no plan to discontinue cnMaestro” (FAQ version 6, 2026-10-05). Cambium kept the cnMaestro software and licensed it to Airspan for those products.

cnMaestro, Wi-Fi / cnMatrix / NSE

Cambium says cnMaestro Cloud “will continue to operate on a go-forward basis” (2026-10-15), with no end date or service terms yet. Its earlier warning that the cloud “may not support Enterprise devices post the end of October, 2026” hasn’t been withdrawn in writing. Compare the paths in your four cnMaestro options.

Do this this week

Five moves to make while access is easy.

Whether or not you ever call us. Each step links to the page that covers it in full.

01 · Export

Get your configuration out of cnMaestro

Inventory, AP groups, WLANs and device settings, plus a by-hand record of per-device overrides and switch-port settings. If you are moving to on-premises, follow the cnMaestro On-Premises migration runbook.

04 · Monitor

Get monitoring off the vendor cloud

If cnMaestro is your only view of the network, a cloud outage leaves you blind. Monitoring over SNMP, built into the radios, does not depend on any vendor cloud, so you still see when a link or site goes down. How we do it, and what it costs (from $497 a month).

05 · Plan

Pick a path per product line, not per company

Stay on cloud, move to on-premises, use a hosted provider, or replace the hardware. Expect a mix. Compare them in your four cnMaestro options.

If you need help

Support while the vendor sorts itself out

What still works on the official side, who to contact, and what an outside engineer can and can’t do: independent Cambium support.

Monitoring without cnMaestro

Cambium SNMP monitoring without cnMaestro.

SNMP is the standard way network devices report their health. This is not a cnMaestro replacement: it watches the network; it does not configure it.

What SNMP gives you

Cambium radios expose SNMP. We can monitor availability, interface counters and the RF metrics your models expose, subject to onboarding checks (ePMP, PMP 450, PTP, cnPilot and Xirrus all publish MIBs), plus the switches, firewalls and WAN links around them. It keeps working whatever happens to the vendor cloud.

Where it falls short

ePMP subscriber units report only limited traffic counters over SNMP; an operator report in Cambium Community thread 85504 covers the Force 300 client units. What you can see varies by model and firmware, so onboarding starts with checking what your models actually report.

From $497/month

Continuity Monitoring for Cambium equipment

Vendor-independent SNMP monitoring, alerting, a portal for your team and a monthly report. Scope and onboarding are quoted after an inventory; the network audit, $1,250 per site, produces that inventory. Monitoring-only: alerts route to your team, no changes are included, and there is no engineer response target. Engineering work bills by the hour (rates in the next card).

When you want an engineer on it

Standard work is $225/hr (1-hour minimum, 15-minute increments); migration and specialized work is $325/hr. Anything over 2 hours gets a written estimate first. Same-day emergency work is +50% with a 2-hour minimum, during business hours, Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM PT.

How we help

What an independent engineer can and can’t do for a Cambium network.

Our side is the network: controller, configuration, monitoring and replacement planning. The radio side that needs the manufacturer or a field crew stays with them.

We can

  • Network-side troubleshooting: controller, configuration, VLANs, routing, DHCP and SNMP, plus the firewall and Wi-Fi around the radios.
  • cnMaestro On-Premises stand-up on hardware you own: your existing hypervisor, or a mini PC we source at cost + 15% that stays yours.
  • Continuity Monitoring for Cambium equipment (see monitoring).
  • Replacement planning, product line by product line.
  • On-site work in Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area and San Jose; remote anywhere in the US.

We can’t

  • RF path and frequency planning, link alignment or tower work.
  • Cambium licences, RMAs or warranty claims.
  • Firmware distribution. You pull firmware from your own Cambium account.
  • Spare parts. We are not a hardware-maintenance depot.
  • Hosting your controller. cnMaestro On-Premises runs on infrastructure you own.
$1,250 per site

Network audit and documentation for Cambium networks

A topology diagram, a device inventory with lifecycle dates, a configuration export and a port/VLAN map. It is step 01 above, the export, done for you, and it is yours to keep. What the audit includes. If you also want ranked findings and a 30-60-90 plan, that is the Network Risk Assessment, from $3,500 for a single small site; larger estates and wireless ISP (WISP) networks are priced by size on the assessment pricing page.

When replacement is due

Replacing Cambium Wi-Fi, switching or NSE

We design and run phased replacements, site by site. Ambio Edge Networks is a Fortinet Engage Partner (Advocate tier), so FortiAP, FortiSwitch and FortiGate are one option; we only recommend replacing what the assessment shows needs it. A fixed-fee firewall migration starts at $6,500 or $8,900, depending on size; after that we can run the new gear under a managed plan from $695 per site per month, automated monitoring with human response Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM PT.

Who you’d be talking to

One senior engineer, not a call center.

Ambio Edge Networks was founded by Jeff Johnson, a network engineer who is Cisco, Fortinet and CompTIA certified. The same senior engineer stays your point of contact throughout the engagement. On-site work covers Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area and San Jose; remote work covers the rest of the US.

Business hours are Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM PT, and we reply within 1 business day. We are not a Cambium or Airspan partner and have no access to their portals beyond what you give us. Outside Cambium work, we also run networks as a Sacramento Fortinet MSP and a Fortinet MSP in San Francisco.

FAQ

Cambium administration questions, answered straight.

Is Cambium Networks going out of business?

The UK operating company, Cambium Networks Ltd, has been in administration since 2026-09-14, and the administrators have sold the business in parts. Cambium’s SEC filing of 2026-09-28 says Cambium Networks Ltd is expected to move into liquidation and the other group companies are expected to be wound up in locally administered processes. The products are a separate question: Airspan bought several fixed-wireless lines on 2026-09-22, and Univastu completed its purchase of ePMP, the Enterprise business and cnMaestro on 2026-10-14, according to Cambium. The Cambium Networks business Univastu bought now runs as a standalone Univastu subsidiary; Cambium Networks Ltd, the company in administration, is a separate matter.

What happened to Cambium Networks?

Nasdaq moved to delist the shares in 2026-03, a notice of intention to appoint administrators was filed on 2026-09-10, 260 staff were laid off on 2026-09-11, and RSM UK was appointed administrator of Cambium Networks Ltd on 2026-09-14. Since then Airspan has bought part of the business (2026-09-22) and Univastu has bought ePMP, the Enterprise business and cnMaestro (completed 2026-10-14). The dated timeline is on this page.

Will cnMaestro shut down?

It depends on the product line. For the lines Airspan bought, Airspan says “There is no plan to discontinue cnMaestro” (FAQ version 6, 2026-10-05), and Cambium kept the cnMaestro software and licensed it to Airspan. For ePMP and the Enterprise lines (Wi-Fi and switching; the NSE gateways aren’t named), Univastu’s purchase includes cnMaestro, and Cambium said on 2026-10-15 that cnMaestro Cloud “will continue to operate on a go-forward basis.” It follows the earlier commitment “through at least October 2026”. As of 2026-10-19 it carries no end date or service terms, and Cambium has not withdrawn in writing its earlier warning that the cloud “may not support Enterprise devices post the end of October, 2026.” Keep your exports current and keep a fallback. Compare the paths in your four cnMaestro options.

Can I still get Cambium support?

Cambium’s contact page still lists its support routes as of 2026-10-11, and Airspan says it has assumed warranty and support for the lines it bought. ePMP, Wi-Fi and cnMatrix now belong to Cambium under Univastu (the announcement doesn’t name the NSE gateways), but as of 2026-10-19 neither Cambium nor Univastu has said how support, existing warranties, RMAs or Cambium Care will be handled under the new owner. Univastu says it will develop a long-term plan for customer support (The Pioneer, 2026-10-15). Independent engineering help exists, with limits: see independent Cambium support.

Do I need to replace my Cambium equipment now?

Usually not this quarter. Radios, access points and switches keep passing traffic without the cloud. What you lose is central management, onboarding of new devices and the vendor support path. Save your configs, firmware and licence records, put monitoring in place that does not depend on the vendor, and replace on a budget cycle. The $1,250 network audit gives you the inventory and lifecycle dates to build that budget.

Can you monitor Cambium radios without cnMaestro?

Yes, over SNMP. Cambium radios expose SNMP; we can monitor availability, interface counters and the RF metrics each model exposes. ePMP subscriber units report only limited traffic counters, so we confirm what your models report before we quote. Alerts route to your team, and monitoring-only carries no engineer response target; when something breaks you call us and the fix bills hourly. Continuity Monitoring starts at $497 a month.

Is Ambio Edge Networks a Cambium partner?

No. We are an independent network engineering firm with no affiliation with Cambium Networks, Airspan Networks, Univastu or the administrators.

I’m owed money or prepaid a subscription. Who do I contact?

The administrators, at Cambium.restructuring@rsmuk.com. We can’t advise on creditor claims or refunds.

What does independent Cambium help cost?

Three published prices. A network audit and documentation is $1,250 per site. Continuity Monitoring for Cambium equipment is from $497 a month, monitoring-only. Engineering time is $225 an hour standard and $325 an hour for migration work, with a written estimate before anything over 2 hours. Engineer time is during business hours, Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM PT.
