Cambium firmware, license keys and RMA records:
what to save before the portals change hands.

Updated 2026-10-19 · By Jeff Johnson · Facts below are dated and sourced.

Cambium’s download site, license-key records and warranty lookup were working when we checked on 2026-10-11. Who runs them in November depends on the product line: Airspan bought some lines and says it will move to a new support system by the end of October, and Univastu bought ePMP, the Enterprise Wi-Fi and switching lines and cnMaestro on 2026-10-14, but has not yet published support or download terms. Your radios, access points and switches keep passing traffic either way. What you can lose is the paperwork: the firmware you would roll back to, the license keys tied to your serials, your LINKPlanner link-design projects and your proof of warranty. This page is the list of what to pull from your own account, family by family, while it is easy.

Status as of 2026-10-19

  • The Cambium support site’s Software Downloads, License Keys and Warranty sections were reachable on 2026-10-11.
  • Firmware downloads are rate-limited. A Cambium staff reply on 2026-09-30 put the limit at “10 files every 20 minutes” (Cambium Community thread 109026).
  • Airspan says that by the end of October it will move the lines it bought (PMP 450, PTP 670/700, cnWave and others) to a new support system, and that for now nothing changes: “no new firmware requirements, license keys, etc.” (Airspan FAQ v6, 2026-10-05).
  • Desktop LINKPlanner was scheduled for removal from downloads on 2026-10-09. The path-profile service (the terrain data LINKPlanner pulls to design a link) may shut down as early as 2026-10-31; Airspan is investigating restoring the original 2026-11-27 date (Airspan FAQ v6).
  • ePMP, enterprise Wi-Fi, cnMatrix and NSE were not bought by Airspan. Univastu completed its purchase of ePMP, the Enterprise business and cnMaestro on 2026-10-14; Cambium runs as a standalone Univastu subsidiary and says it will resume production (Cambium announcement, 2026-10-15). Nothing has been published about firmware downloads or license portals under the new owner.

Where the files are

Where to download Cambium firmware today.

Cambium firmware downloads, release notes and tools are on the Cambium support site under Software Downloads: support.cambiumnetworks.com/files. License keys are under support.cambiumnetworks.com/licensekeys and the warranty lookup is under support.cambiumnetworks.com/warranty. Use those, signed in to your own account. That is the only source we point anyone to.

We do not host, mirror or send Cambium firmware. It is not ours to distribute, and a file from a stranger is a file you cannot trust on a tower or a ceiling. Forum users have asked Cambium to publish a community firmware archive; nothing official exists as of 2026-10-11. Pull your own copies now and keep them somewhere you control. If you want help deciding what to keep running and what to replace, start with independent Cambium support.

The checklist

Firmware archive checklist, by product family.

Do the same four things for every family you run, then work through the family notes. If you would rather hand this to us, the network audit, $1,250 per site, produces the inventory in step 1.

1

List what you actually run

Model, hardware revision and running firmware version for every device. Your cnMaestro (Cambium’s management dashboard) inventory export is the fastest start; check stragglers on the device itself. You only need firmware for models you own.

2

Pull two versions per model

The version you run now, so you can reload a replacement unit to match, and the version below it, so you can roll back. Save the release notes with each file.

3

Pace it around the rate limit

At 10 files per 20 minutes, 30 files an hour is the ceiling. Make the full file list first, then pull it in batches. Scripts that hammer the site are the reason the limit exists.

4

Hash it and store it twice

Record a SHA-256 hash (a fingerprint of the file, one command on any laptop) of each file as you save it, next to the file name, model and download date. Keep one copy on site and one off site. The hash lets you prove later that the file hasn’t changed since you saved it.

What to pull, by family. Ownership as of 2026-10-19.
FamilyWho has it nowWhat to save
ePMP (including Force subscriber radios)Not bought by Airspan; Univastu (Cambium) since 2026-10-14AP and subscriber-module firmware for each model and hardware revision, current and previous. Feature or country license keys for each serial.
PMP 450 familyAirspanCurrent and previous firmware per model. Any license keys. Note your support-contract numbers for Airspan’s new support system.
PTP 670 / 700 / 450iAirspanFirmware for both ends of each link, plus any capacity or feature license keys tied to each serial.
PTP 820 / 850 licensed microwaveNot bought by Airspan; Airspan says it is “in discussions with the OEM supplier of the PTP 820/850”Firmware, license keys and the configuration of each link end. Nobody has committed to support this line yet.
Enterprise Wi-Fi (cnPilot, XV, Xirrus)Not bought by Airspan; Univastu (Cambium) since 2026-10-14; per-model list not publishedAP firmware per model, current and previous. cnMaestro X subscription details.
cnMatrix switchesNot bought by Airspan; Univastu (Cambium) since 2026-10-14Switch firmware per model, current and previous. A copy of each switch’s running configuration.
NSE gatewaysNot bought by Airspan; not named in the Univastu announcement, confirm in writingFirmware per model and a configuration export from each unit.

Don’t upgrade blind

Archiving is not the same as upgrading. With support uncertain for half the portfolio, a bad upgrade is harder to undo. One example: an operator report in Cambium Community thread 108864 (2026-10-05) said ePMP 5.3.0 performed significantly better than 5.12.1 on Force 400C radios in point-to-point mode, and Cambium staff asked for support files to investigate. Treat that as one operator’s result, not a verdict. Test any new version on one link or one AP first, and keep the old file so you can go back.

Licenses

Back up your Cambium license keys.

License keys are tied to serial numbers, and the record of which key belongs to which serial lives in Cambium’s system. If that system changes hands or moves, you want your own copy. From your own account:

  • Open the License Keys section and save every key with its serial number, product, feature and issue date. A screenshot is better than nothing; a spreadsheet is better than a screenshot.
  • Include any feature, capacity or country license keys your radios use. On a replacement unit these are what you will need to reapply.
  • Record your cnMaestro X subscription details: tier, device count, start and end dates, and the account it sits under.
  • Save support-contract and Cambium Care contract numbers, end dates and the invoices that prove you paid for them.
  • Keep the file with your firmware archive, not in someone’s inbox.

For Airspan-owned lines, Airspan says nothing needs to change at this time. For the lines Airspan did not buy, Airspan’s FAQ tells owners to contact Cambium Networks for options. If you prepaid for support or subscriptions and want to know where that stands, the administrators’ published contact is Cambium.restructuring@rsmuk.com. We can’t advise on creditor claims.

Planning files

Cambium LINKPlanner: export your projects now.

LINKPlanner went to Airspan in the 2026-09-22 sale. Desktop LINKPlanner was scheduled for removal from the support site downloads on 2026-10-09. The path-profile service may shut down as early as 2026-10-31; Airspan is investigating restoring the original 2026-11-27 date (Airspan FAQ v6, 2026-10-05). An earlier Cambium Community notice (thread 108977) said desktop LINKPlanner “will not be able to obtain path profiles from 30 October 2026”, so plan for the earlier date. Airspan says migration to the cloud version of LINKPlanner is on schedule. It also says it can only commit to LINKPlanner support for the products it bought; support for ePMP and other non-acquired lines is “being investigated”. Export ePMP projects first.

  • If you still have the desktop installer, keep a copy with your archive.
  • Open every project you care about and save a copy to storage you control, including any reports and bills of materials you generated from it.
  • Request any new path profiles you need before the end of October, while the service still answers.

Warranty

Cambium warranty and RMA records.

Cambium’s published standard warranty is one year from the first end-user purchase, not transferable on resale, extendable up to five years, with RMAs (returns of a failed unit for repair or replacement) handled through Cambium support. Airspan says it “has assumed all warranty and support commitments” for the product lines it bought. For ePMP, Wi-Fi and cnMatrix, Airspan’s FAQ says to contact Cambium Networks (it doesn’t mention NSE); neither acquisition announcement explains how existing warranties will be handled under Univastu (as of 2026-10-19). For more on who to call for each line, see independent Cambium support after the administration.

Whoever ends up honoring a claim will want proof. Save now:

  • A serial-number list for every unit, with model, site and install date.
  • Proof of purchase: invoices or packing lists that show the serials and the purchase date.
  • Any extended-warranty or advance-replacement contracts.
  • Open RMA numbers, with the case history and shipping records for anything in transit.
  • A screenshot of the warranty lookup result for each serial while the lookup still works.

We can’t file or process RMAs or warranty claims. That stays between you and the manufacturer that owns the line.

Configuration

Export your cnMaestro configuration.

Firmware and keys are useless without the configuration that goes on the device. For the lines Univastu bought, Cambium said on 2026-10-15 that cnMaestro Cloud “will continue to operate on a go-forward basis”, without specifying model coverage, an end date or service terms; for Airspan-owned lines, Airspan says there is “no plan to discontinue cnMaestro”. Export your inventory, AP groups and WLANs now anyway, and note per-device overrides by hand: a current export is what lets you move if the terms change. The full step-by-step is on our cnMaestro on-premises migration page; for the decision itself, see your four cnMaestro options.

Spares

Spares sizing worksheet.

If no one is going to ship you a replacement next week, the spare on your shelf is your warranty. Fill this in from your own inventory and failure history; it tells you what to buy before a failure, not after. We have not put numbers in it because yours are the only ones that matter.

Copy this into a spreadsheet, one row per model and role.
ColumnWhat goes in it
RoleAP, subscriber module, backhaul end, access switch, gateway
Model and hardware revisionExactly as on the label; revisions can need different firmware
Installed countFrom your inventory export
Failures in the last 24 monthsFrom your RMA and ticket history
Impact if one failsUsers or subscribers down, and for how long without a spare
Spares on the shelfCount, tested and loaded with your archived firmware
Spares targetYour decision, based on the three columns above

We don’t sell or broker Cambium spares. Ownership of each line is mapped on Airspan and Cambium: who owns each product line now. If you want the model and count columns filled from a live inventory instead of by hand, that is what the $1,250 audit produces; see independent Cambium support for what happens after it.

FAQ

Firmware, license and RMA questions.

Where can I download Cambium firmware now?

From the Software Downloads section of the Cambium support site, support.cambiumnetworks.com/files, signed in to your own account. It was reachable on 2026-10-11. Downloads are limited to 10 files every 20 minutes, so make a list and pull it in batches.

Will Cambium firmware downloads go away?

Nobody has announced that. Airspan says it will move the lines it bought to a new support system by the end of October, and Univastu, which bought ePMP and the Enterprise lines on 2026-10-14, has not said anything about downloads yet. Where the files live in November is not settled, so archive what you need now.

How do I back up my Cambium license keys?

Sign in to the License Keys section of the Cambium support site and save every key with its serial number, product and feature, plus your cnMaestro X subscription details and support-contract numbers. Keep the file with your firmware archive.

Is LINKPlanner still available?

LINKPlanner is now Airspan’s. Desktop LINKPlanner was scheduled for removal from downloads on 2026-10-09, and the path-profile service may shut down as early as 2026-10-31; Airspan is investigating restoring the original 2026-11-27 date. Airspan says the cloud version is on schedule. Save your projects now.

Can you send me ePMP firmware?

No. We can’t distribute Cambium firmware, and you shouldn’t load firmware from a third party onto your network. Pull it from your own account on the Cambium support site.

How do I check my Cambium warranty?

Use the Warranty section of the Cambium support site with the unit’s serial number, and screenshot the result. Standard warranty is one year from the first end-user purchase and does not transfer on resale. Airspan has taken on warranty for the lines it bought.

Is there a Cambium firmware archive or mirror?

Not an official one. Forum users have asked Cambium for a community archive; nothing official existed on 2026-10-11, and we don’t host or mirror firmware. The only source we point to is your own account at support.cambiumnetworks.com/files. Save your own copies and record a SHA-256 hash for each file.

Want it done for you?

Network audit & documentation, $1,250 per site.

A topology diagram, a device inventory with lifecycle dates, a configuration export and a port/VLAN map for each site. The inventory is the list of firmware and license keys you need to pull; you pull them from your own account, because only you can sign in. Engineering time beyond that is $225 an hour, or $325 an hour for migration work, with a written estimate for anything over two hours. After the audit, Continuity Monitoring for Cambium equipment is from $497 a month, with automated alerts when a monitored radio fails its checks. What the audit includes. Read a sample assessment report (PDF). If you also run Fortinet, we are a Sacramento Fortinet MSP and a Fortinet MSP in San Francisco.
